Baranti Circuit

Baranti is a small, quiet and scenic place in the West Rarh region of West Bengal. This is not actually a circuit though, but it is the most famous tourist spot in the west part of Purulia, which is also known as the sightseeing spots for tourists in Purulia. There is a 1 km long irrigation project dam, between two small hillocks, Muradi Hill and Baranti Hill. You can get a grand view of Baranti Lake. It’s also a picnic spot, where people from nearby areas, such as Asansol, Kolkata come for a day or 2 -long picnic. Baranti is a small, quiet and scenic place in the West Rarh region of West Bengal. Tourist Spots in the Baranti Circuit

Also the Garh Panchkot Hills and the Ancient temples are nearby the Baranti Lake. A fortified area owned by the Rajas of Panchakot, the Singh Deo dynasty, reputed to have been established in 90 CE. It is said that the Singh Deos lost out to Bir Hambir of Bishnupur Raj around 1600, albeit for a short period. The Maratha raiders, locally known as Bargis, ransacked the place in the 18th century. The Singh Deo family, ultimately, moved out to Kashipur, in present-day Purulia district. We can see some ancient temples made by those kings in the Telkupi Area. That's another scenic beauty of nature, the half temple is under water and another half up the water, tourists can go boating there. Also the Panchet Dam is nearby which is the West Bengal and Jharkhand Border, also one of the largest dams in Bengal. PLaces like Kashipur rajbari, Ranjandih dam that are under the Purulia Town Circuit are also nearby the Joychandi Hill. There’s a road which connects Raghunathpur area with the Kashipur area so the Kashipur Nearby places like Ranjandih and Rajbari are closer to this.These are all the tourist spots in the Baranti Circuit:

Sunrise and sunset views from the hillocks are especially beautiful during winter.
Monsoon (July to August)

How to Reach

By Train

Purulia Railway Station is well-connected and located about 322 km from Kolkata. You can take convenient trains like Ranchi Vande Bharat Express (20898), Chakradharpur Express (18011), Purulia SF Express (12827), or Ranchi Intercity Express (18627). After reaching Purulia Railway Station, you can hire a private vehicle from Purulia Travels. The vehicle will take you to the Baranti Circuit.

By Road

Purulia is easily accessible by road from nearby cities such as Bankura, Asansol, Bokaro, Jamshedpur, and Ranchi. If you're coming from Kolkata, you can take a bus from Esplanade, where multiple government and private buses operate, including some with AC service. All buses drop passengers at the Purulia Bus Stand. From there, you can hire a private vehicle from Purulia Travels to reach Garh Panchkot. The vehicle will take you to the Baranti Circuit.

By Air

The closest airport is Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi, about 117 km away. Another option is Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport in Durgapur, which is around 164 km away. From either airport, you can take a train or bus to reach Purulia Town. After arriving in Purulia, hire a private vehicle from Purulia Travels. The vehicle will take you to the Baranti Circuit.
