Joychandi Pahar, 800 feet tall stands tall and is one of the most iconic places in the Baranti Circuit of Purulia sightseeing. Spring & Summer (February–June)
Spring and early summer make Joychandi Pahar soo’ a vivid wonder. The hills are embraced by bright red and orange Palash flowers, otherwise referred to as Flame of the Forest, so that the overall feel is magical. How to Reach

By Train

Purulia Railway Station is well-connected and about 322 km from Kolkata. You can take trains like Ranchi Vande Bharat Express (20898), Chakradharpur Express (18011), Purulia SF Express (12827), or Ranchi Intercity Express (18627). Once you reach the station, hire a private car from Purulia Travels to get to Joychandi Pahar. The journey takes about an hour and covers around 43 km.

By Road

Joychandi Pahar is also easy to reach by road from Kolkata. Buses leave from Esplanade, including government and private services. Two of the government buses offer AC. All buses stop at Purulia Bus Stand, from where you can book a car from Purulia Travels. The final 43 km ride takes about an hour. If driving, take the Bankura or Asansol route—both offer scenic views, in the Asansol route the Joychandi Pahar is clearly visible on the left after reaching Raghunathpur in Purulia.

By Air

The nearest airport is Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport in Durgapur, about 90 km away. Another option is Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi, around 173 km from Joychandi Pahar. From either airport, travel to Purulia by bus or train. After reaching Purulia Town, hire a private car from Purulia Travels for the last stretch—around 43 km and about an hour’s drive to the hill.
