Lower Dam: A Perfect Mix of Nature and Technology

The Lower Dam, situated in the heart of the Ajodhya Hills, is not only a splendid spot in nature but also a remarkable testimony of the modernities of technology. It is connected to Purulia Pumped Storage Project (PPSP) and the role of generating electricity is fulfilled using the energy of water flow. In addition to the Upper Dam, it is responsible for managing electricity demand and stabilizing the supply of power.

The Lower Dam is significant to the lower ppsp pumped-storage plan. In times of lower demand for electricity, water is transferred through the Lower Dam to the Upper Dam. On high demand, water that was stored is used to produce power by means of turbines.

Nature’s Beauty: Green & Majestic

The Lower Dam is reached by a tranquil setting where its deep green waters harmonizes well with the natural environment tucked next to the scenery. The water which also originates from the Bamni Waterfall makes the place look even more attractively invigorating.

The stillness of the water adds a mysterious and beautiful charm to the Lower Dam, it seems like a river in a jungle untouched.

Viewpoint: A Perfect Combination of Nature & Engineering

If you take a road along from the upper Dam, you come to the Lower Dam point of view. And from here, one can have a very wide sight of the dam, within the beautiful forests around, with a clear black top road running through it. The open sky above acts as an enhancement to this beauty, making this a good site for pictures and relaxation.

It is not only the natural beauty that convinces you here, but every detail, from the flow of the water to the technology applied, everything is well-matched. The result of the careful design of these dams is the process of using the flow of water to turn turbines.
